John Nolan

– Strategic Advisor

John Nolan is a Strategic Advisor to Arsenal. He advises Arsenal on thier Commerce/Logistics investment efforts as well as works with Arsenal’s respective portfolio companies. He has been a senior executive, board member and business leader in both the government and private sectors.  He began his career in 1970 as a management intern with the U.S.Postal Service and rose in the organization to become Regional Director for Customer Service and then General Manager/Postmaster of the New York Division.  In 1989 he was recruited to manage the operations of a new Merrill Lynch operating entity, Merrill Lynch Production Technologies specializing in commercial printing, computer printing, fulfillment, mail operations, logistics and proxy services.  In 2000 he was recruited back to the Postal Service as Deputy Postmaster General and member of its Board of Governors.

Since 2005 he has served as counselor/consultant to senior executives in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors. He serves or has served on a number of corporate and nonprofit boards including Streamlite, SkyShop Logistics, Envelop Manufacturers Foundation, the Smithsonian Institution’s National Postal Museum (current chair), Washington & Lee University Shepherd Poverty Program (former chair), Linden Resources (current), and St. Columba’s Episcopal Church Vestry.

Mr. Nolan holds a BA degree from Washington & Lee University and completed Harvard Business School’s Program for Management Development.  He is married with a son, a daughter and four grandsons.  He resides in Chevy Chase MD.
